Mediocre stay. Some definite downsides

The grounds were really beautiful. That's definitely a plus.

I found the room quite dated. It reminded me of stepping back in time, but not in a good way. the furniture was sparse and not very inviting. I really missed having a comfortable chair. also, the number of day passes they sell really detracts from the experience for hotel guests. The pool area was constantly overcrowded and quite rowdy, so there was no relaxation at all

the breakfast buffet offered a huge spread. i had no issues with it . the staff was friendly and accommodated requests. i appreciated their helpfulness.

the furniture seemed old. the toilet seat in the room was broken. it was a minor inconvenience but noticeable. the pools were crowded.

from the time i arrived, i found the grounds were beautiful with lush green plants. i explored many hidden places and saw birds and lizards during my walks. i enjoyed drinking coffee on the balcony each morning, listening to the jungle wake up.

the pool area sells many day passes and there is no dedicated area for hotel guests, i feel.

I appreciated the view of the volcano. The breakfast had a large selection of food. The well kept landscaping and rooms impressed me. The room was serviced daily.

Some pools had sections where the bottom was peeling off.

i found the grounds fine (volcano views!). i drove to the lookout point and found a road to a lake and a costa rican park. the pools have different temperatures, ensuring i found one i liked. i could sit and chat with friends while soaking in the warm waters.

i thought the bar was a little too loud at the pool, with many guests drinking heavily and talking loudly. this affected the peaceful atmosphere i had anticipated.
